Peter Lion had been inclined towards writing from a very young age. Throughout his maturing years in Connecticut he was seen dabbling in poetry and also wrote a number of short stories. His talent within this field was further honed when after enrolling in the Notre Dame High School in Connecticut he soon began contributing to the students school newspaper.
He set out to make a career of his passion with the words by first getting a degree in Journalism through the Southern Connecticut State University. He published his very first magazine article inside the Hartford Magazine before he graduated with his journalism degree.
He ventured into the television business before he’d completed his college. A few months before graduation, Peter Lion took up employment with WTNH-TV as part time graphics operator. This television channel was an associate with the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Then he transferred to Boston and started working with WSBK as a Technical Director. He worked on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. He joined this team to be a director and a technical director for the 10 PM news cast, which was to become the very first within the state. He then moved back to Connecticut and became a part of ESPN sports network. Still an integral part of ESPN, he’s in charge of a number of their shows like Sports Centre and the NFL Draft in his position in the organization as a Director. His primary show however, remains, College Gameday.
He has been a 2 time winner of the Emmy awards, even though he has been nominated frequently for his contribution in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work with Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.
Apart from working, Peter Lion is presently working on his 2nd book. He is additionally a part of a band that goes by the name of Cheaper than Therapy” and is also its lead singer as well as guitarist
